Ararat-Armenia will make their UEFA Europa League league-phase debut when they welcome Sparta Prague to the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan on Wednesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. local time (12:45 p.m. US Eastern Time). The Armenian champions arrive after consecutive domestic victories without conceding, including a 3-0 win over Syunik, and have won each of their four most recent European home matches. Sparta, meanwhile, responded to an inconsistent start and four defeats in six away games with a 2-0 victory over Jablonec. The Czech side also holds the psychological advantage after beating Ararat-Armenia twice—4-1 and 2-1—in last season’s Conference League qualifiers.

Ararat-Armenia have no significant new injury concerns. João Bravim could return in goal after Arman Nersesyan started at the weekend, while França is expected to retain his place after scoring in consecutive matches. Arayik Eloyan strengthened his claim to lead the attack by scoring twice against Syunik.
Sparta Prague will be without the suspended Adam Ševínský following his red card against Lyon. Magnus Andersen remains sidelined after knee surgery and Sivert Mannsverk is also unavailable, while Emmanuel Uchenna and Jakub Martinec are considered doubtful. Josimar Alcócer, who has scored four goals in his past six appearances, is expected to be one of Sparta’s main attacking threats. Sports Mole
