View the live stream and TV coverage details and live score for the 2026/2027 UEFA Europa League play-off match - Mjallby vs Salzburg.
Mjällby AIF host Red Bull Salzburg at Strandvallen in Hällevik, Sweden, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League play-off. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. local time/CEST and 12:00 noon US Eastern Time. Swedish champions Mjällby dropped into the Europa League after following a 3-0 aggregate win over Lincoln Red Imps with elimination by Slovan Bratislava, but Karl Marius Aksum’s side returned to winning ways in a dramatic 4-3 Allsvenskan victory over leaders Sirius last weekend. Salzburg arrive unbeaten this season and advanced past Pafos 4-3 on aggregate, protecting a 1-0 first-leg advantage with a 3-3 draw in Cyprus, before recording a commanding 3-0 domestic win at WSG Tirol. The Austrian side’s greater European experience makes them favourites, although Mjällby will hope their compact home ground can provide an important advantage before the return leg in Salzburg.

Mjällby AIF
Mjällby remain without Finnish forward Timo Stavitski, who has not played since May because of a back injury. He is expected to return later in August but is unlikely to be ready for Thursday.
The Swedish champions have also lost two important players during the transfer window. Striker Abdoulie Manneh has joined Cercle Brugge on loan, while influential midfielder Elliot Stroud has moved to Hull City.
After scoring twice apiece in the 4-3 victory over Sirius, Jacob Bergström and Olle Lindberg are both pushing for attacking roles. Bergström is expected to lead the line, with Anders Torstensson likely to retain Mjällby’s usual three-defender system.
Red Bull Salzburg
Salzburg are without Justin Omoregie and Anrie Chase, who remain sidelined with thigh injuries. Enrique Aguilar is recovering from a hand injury, while experienced defender Stefan Lainer is not expected back from his heel problem for another week or two.
There are also doubts over Soumaïla Diabaté, Edmund Baidoo and Gaoussou Diakité, all of whom have recently been managing minor fitness problems. Coach Danny Röhl may therefore avoid risking the trio from the start.
Haris Tabaković is expected to return to the starting line-up after scoring all four of Salzburg’s goals across the qualifying tie against Pafos. Summer departures Aleksa Terzić and Lucas Gourna-Douath are no longer available after completing moves to Frosinone and Hull City respectively.
