The San Sebastián Half Marathon course is renowned for its scenic route, taking runners along some of the most beautiful sights of the city. The race typically starts and finishes near Alderdi Eder, in the heart of San Sebastián, facing the iconic Concha Bay. The course meanders along the beachfront, offering stunning views of the sea and surrounding hills.
Runners pass through several of the city’s historic and picturesque areas, including the Parte Vieja (Old Town), known for its narrow streets and vibrant atmosphere. The route also skirts along the Urumea River, crosses several bridges, and provides glimpses of important landmarks such as the Kursaal Congress Centre and Auditorium, and various well-known sculptures along the coast.
The course is mostly flat, which makes it ideal for runners aiming for personal bests. Its beauty coupled with its relative ease (thanks to minimal elevation changes) makes it a favorite among both seasoned marathoners and casual runners.
