The 2026 edition of the will take place on May 16–17 in Riga, with organizers expecting a record-breaking turnout of more than 40,000 runners from over 110 countries. The race weekend continues to grow as one of Northern Europe’s premier road running festivals, building on the legacy of the 2023 World Athletics Road Running Championships hosted in Riga.

The event weekend begins on Friday, May 15, with the official EXPO and bib pickup at the Rimi Olympic Centre. Saturday, May 16 features Kids’ Day races and the popular DPD Mile through central Riga, while the main marathon program takes place on Sunday, May 17.

Course highlights

The Riga Marathon courses are known for being flat, fast, and scenic, running through the UNESCO-listed Old Town and across Riga’s iconic bridges over the Daugava River. The routes largely preserve the layouts used during the 2023 World Athletics Road Running Championships, which produced several national and event records.
