Kishane Thompson Blazes 14.92 for 150m World Best at Miramar Invitational

Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson delivered a stunning early-season statement at the Miramar Invitational on Saturday, clocking 14.92 seconds (+1.3 m/s) to win the men’s 150 meters and record the fastest time ever run over the distance on a standard track.
Thompson surged away from the field in the rarely contested event, finishing ahead of Zimbabwe’s Tapiwanashe Makarawu, who followed closely in 14.96. The performance marks a world best for 150m on a regulation track, underlining the Jamaican’s exceptional top-end speed and transition phase.
While the 150m is not an official record event recognized by World Athletics, Thompson’s mark stands as the fastest ever recorded on a curved track. The absolute best performance remains Usain Bolt’s 14.35, set on a straight street track in Manchester in 2009.
The run further confirms Thompson’s red-hot form in 2026, positioning the Olympic 100m silver medallist as one of the leading contenders heading into the global sprint season.
