Seville, Spain — Ethiopia’s Zeineba Yimer Worku produced a dominant front-running display to win the women’s race at the 2026 Sevilla Half Marathon, stopping the clock at 1:06:33 to break the course record by nearly 45 seconds and register the fifth fastest half-marathon time in the world this season.

Yimer ran alone for most of the contest and faced no serious challenge. Kenya’s Winnie Jepskogei claimed second in a personal best 1:07:45, while Ethiopia’s Aminet Ahmed Abde completed the podium in 1:09:11.

Spain’s Marta Galimany led the home charge, finishing fifth overall in 1:09:57, also a career best, on the fast Paseo de Las Delicias circuit.

The men’s race delivered high drama from start to finish. France’s Emmanuel Roudolff prevailed in a last-meter sprint, edging Kenya’s Owen Korir Kapkama by just one second, 1:00:24 to 1:00:25, with the Kenyan impressing in his debut over the distance. Fellow Kenyan Jonathan Kipkoech Kamosong secured third in 1:00:33.

Roberto Alaiz was the top Spaniard in ninth place overall with 1:03:55, while Seville’s David Palacio debuted in 1:05:51, finishing third among national runners.
