The 2026 Mondo Classic, an elite international pole vault meeting, will take place on Thursday, March 12, at the IFU Arena in Uppsala, Sweden, bringing together many of the world’s best vaulters for one of the most specialized and exciting competitions of the indoor season.

Created around Swedish superstar Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, the meet features a unique one-event format dedicated entirely to the pole vault. The competition is part of the World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver series and traditionally attracts a world-class lineup as athletes sharpen their form ahead of major global championships later in the indoor season.

How to Watch

The event will be streamed live for free on Eurovision Sports (free account registration required)m while in Sweden the competition will be broadcast live on SVT. The live coverage is scheduled to start at around 6:00 PM Central European Time.

The Field

Duplantis, the reigning world champion after clearing a stunning 6.30 meters in Tokyo in 2025, will headline the competition in front of a home crowd. The Swedish record holder and world record holder enters the meet with a 2026 season best of 6.06m and will be aiming for another high-profile performance in Uppsala.

Among the top challengers is Emmanouil Karalis of Greece, the 2025 World Championships silver medalist, who arrives in exceptional form with a season best of 6.17m, one of the top marks in the world this year. Norway’s Sondre Guttormsen, sixth at the 2025 World Championships and already over 6.06m this season, will also be among the contenders.

The strong international field also includes Zach Bradford of the United States, who owns a 6.01m personal best, Australia’s Kurtis Marschall, bronze medalist at the 2025 World Championships with a best of 6.00m this season, and American standouts KC Lightfoot, Sam Kendricks, and Chris Nilsen, all athletes with careers above the six-meter barrier.
