VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Isabella Whittaker, a junior from the University of Arkansas, delivered a record-breaking performance at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday (15), clocking a blistering 49.24 seconds to claim the 400m title at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Her time shattered the previous NCAA indoor record of 49.48, set by Britton Wilson in 2023, and moved her to the #2 spot on the world all-time list. Only Femke Bol of the Netherlands has run faster, holding the world record at 49.17 seconds.
Whittaker’s performance cements her as one of the fastest indoor 400m runners in history, setting the stage for a thrilling outdoor season ahead.
