Great Britain's Scott Lincoln took second place with a throw of 21.09m, and Roger Steen from the USA secured third with 20.48m.
Zane Weir commented on his comeback: "I'm thrilled to be back in top form after my ankle sprain. It was a special victory, especially with my grandfather watching from nearby Trieste."
