Course Map- Irish Life Dublin Marathon

The Irish Life Dublin Marathon course offers a scenic, single-lap journey through Dublin’s most vibrant and historic areas, combining urban charm with stretches of tranquil greenery.
Starting on Leeson Street Lower, runners make their way through the city center before heading west into the expansive Phoenix Park, one of Europe’s largest enclosed urban parks. This section provides wide roads, gentle undulations, and welcome shade from the park’s towering trees—a favorite stretch for both athletes and spectators.
Exiting the park, the course winds through Chapelizod and Inchicore, then loops south of the River Liffey toward the residential neighborhoods of Walkinstown, Terenure, and Rathgar, where local crowds traditionally line the streets with music and cheers. The final miles lead runners back toward the city, passing St. Stephen’s Green and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, before the grand finish near Merrion Square in Dublin’s Georgian quarter.
Overall, the route is fast, scenic, and largely flat with mild rolling sections, making it ideal for both first-time marathoners and elite athletes chasing personal bests.
