A total of 723 athletes from 40 nations are entered, with teams competing for relay titles as well as qualification places for the World Athletics Championships Beijing 2027 and the World Athletics Ultimate Championship.

The competition promises elite quality, with all six gold medal-winning teams from the 2025 World Relays returning to defend their titles. They will be joined by four of the five victorious nations from the 2025 World Championships and three Olympic champion teams from Paris 2024.

Host nation Botswana will look to capitalize on home advantage, led by Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo in the men’s 4x100m and world 400m champion Collen Kebinatshipi in the 4x400m, alongside fellow world relay champions Bayapo Ndori and Leungo Scotch.

The United States brings a powerful squad featuring world champions Ronnie Baker and Courtney Lindsey, while Jamaica counters with a star-studded lineup that includes world 100m champion Oblique Seville, Olympic great Elaine Thompson-Herah, and two-time world champion Shericka Jackson.

Canada has named its full Olympic gold medal-winning men’s 4x100m quartet, led by Andre De Grasse, while South Africa returns with its winning 4x400m team and sprint anchor Akani Simbine.

Strong European representation includes Italy’s Zaynab Dosso, the Netherlands’ Lieke Klaver, and Belgium’s Alexander Doom, among other relay standouts.

With Olympic champions, world titleholders, and deep national squads across all events, Gaborone is set to deliver a thrilling weekend of world-class relay racing.
