Last time the controversial sprinter lost a race was at the 2013 world championships 100m final in which Gatlin took second place behind Usain Bolt.
Since the beginning of this season, the 33-year-old Gatlin have been braking records over 100m and 200m events.
The 2015 Diamond league trophy winner, Gatlin, at the opening Diamond league meet in Doha on May set a new personal best of 9.74 seconds. Few weeks later at Golden Gala Diamond league meet in Rome he ran 9.76 shaving off 0.01 seconds from Usain Bolt's meet and stadium record.
At USA championships on June 28, Gatlin ran a sensational 19.57 personal best to win the 200m final.
Last week in Lausanne, Gatlin was also unstoppable as clocked another magnificent mark of 9.75 seconds beating former world record holder Asafa Powell and American record holder Tyson Gay.
The 100m meet record at Monca's Stade Luiss II stadium stands at 9.82 seconds which considering Gatlin's current form might go down.
On Friday, Gatlin will face a very strong field of Trayvon Bromell, Tyson Gay, Femi Ogunode, Jimmy Vicaut, Keston Bledman, and Nickel Ashmeade; all these men have run under 10 seconds in 100m this season.
