• World Class Pole Vault Meeting in Reno

The city of Reno (Nevada) will host the 2013 National Indoor Pole Vault Summit this weekend on Friday (18)and Saturday (19) . Several Olympic and World Championship medalists have decleared their participation in Reno. 

The 2012 London Olympic Champions Jenn Suhr (PR 4.92) and Renaud Lavillenie (PR 6.03) are among the participants at the National Indoor Summit. Lavillenie on January 13th already prooved his fine form by clearing 5.83m at the Indoor Pole Vault Meet in Aubiere, (FRA). For American pole-vaulter Jenn Suhr this competition will be a season opener.

The Beijing Olympic Champion Australian Steve Hooker suffered carrers downs in 2011 and 2012 due to injuries but must be respected.  His personal best of 6.06 stands in second place in the worlds all time list. 

Besides Lavillenie and Suhr The two time world  Pole Vault champion, Indoors and Outdoors, Fabiana Murer is going to participate this this Friday in Reno as well. Murer has been training hard with goals to defend her world title in Moscow, and to improve her own South American record that stands at 4.85 m.

 “I’m training hard, I know that I am able to get the 4.90m and even up to 5.00m mark,” said Murer.

 Murers compatriots, the South American record holder (5.80m)  Fábio Gomes da Silva and Thiago Braz, who won world junior title last year in Barcelona will also participate in Reno  Pole Vault Summit.
