Abbabiya Simbassa, an Ethiopian-born American long-distance runner, and Kenyan Sarah Naibei shattered the courserecords at the Flanigan's Rockin' Rib Run 10K. Abbabiya Simbassa finished the course in an astonishing time of 27:55, beating the previous record set by David Bett by nearly a half minute. Sarah Naibei, on the other hand, dominated the women's race, crossing the finish line in 31:28. This performance not only secured her the win but also shattered the course record previously held by Vicoty Chepngeno, who finished in second place with a time of 31:36. Argentina's Florencia Borelli also put on a impressive performance, setting a new South American record of 31:58 to secure third place on the podium.
