Kenya´s women's squad consisting of Eunice Sum World 800m champion, Hellen Obiri the 2012 world indoor 3000m champion, Anne Karingi and the 16-year-old Margaret Chelimo set a new world best in the 4x1500m relay in Nairobi.
Their team clocked a time of 17:08.17 smashing the old record of 17:08.34 by the University of Tennessee (2009) 0.17 seconds.Their average time was 4:17 per 1500m per runner.
The men's 4x1500m team consisting of world champion Asbel Kiprop Nixon Chepseba and two more Kenyan youngsters clocked a time of 14:48.6 and averaging 3.42 per each 1500m.
The first World Relay Championships will take place in Bahamas on May 24-25.
