Day 3 of the USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene on Saturday delivered a thrilling showcase of elite performances, personal bests, and dominant victories, as athletes chased national titles and spots on the U.S. team for the World Championships in Tokyo.

Masai Russell Electrifies the 100m Hurdles

The women’s 100m hurdles final was one of the most explosive races of the day. Masai Russell, the 2024 Olympic champion, stormed to victory in a sensational 12.22, continuing her reign as the event’s dominant force. The second place took Grace Stark (12.31) and third-place finisher Alaysha Johnson clocked 12.36.

400m Finals: McLaughlin-Levrone and Patterson Impress

Olympic 400m champion and 400m hurdles world record holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone looked sublime in the women’s 400m final, clocking a season’s best 48.90, one of the fastest times in the world this year. Isabella Whittaker (49.59) and Aaliyah Butler (49.91) completed the podium in second and third, respectively.

Lexy Halladay-Lowry delivered a fearless run in the women’s 3000m steeplechase, pulling away in the final laps to win in 9:09.14.

In the men’s final, defending champion Kenneth Rooks controlled the pace and closed strong to clock 8:26.58, securing another national crown.
