Yohan Blake and Shericka Jackson won the 100m titles at the 2022 Jamaican National Championships on Friday night in Kingston.
In a loaded men's 100m final, the 2nd fastest man of all time, Yohan Blake, emerged the winner. The former 100m World champion blasted out from the blocks and powered to victory with a new season's best time of 9.85 seconds. Blake's winning time of 9.85sec is the 2nd quickest in the world this year and his fastest since 2012. He finished ahead of rising sprint star Oblique Seville, who clocked 9.88, and Ackeem Blake, who finished third in a personal best of 9.93.
In the women's 100 final, Shericka Jackson shocked an impressive field to win her first 100 meters Jamaican title. The Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist clocked a speedy 10.77 seconds to finish ahead of Kemba Nelson (10.88PB). Double Olympic sprint champion Elaine Thompson-Herah finished third in 10.89 seconds. Youngster Briana Williams placed fourth with a new personal best of 10.94.

Elsewhere on Day 2 of the Jamaica Trials
Janieve Russell took another 400M Hurdles Women title with a time of 53.63. Shiann Salmon set a new personal best of 53.82 to finish 2nd, while the 2019 world championship bronze medalist Rushelle Clayton was third in 54.20. The pre-race favorite and third-fastest woman in 400mH this season, Andrennette Knight, failed to finish the race after crashing into the hurdle on the back straight and falling over.
The men's 400M Hurdles winner Jaheel Hyde clocked a fast 48.51, finishing only 0.02 seconds ahead of Kemar Mowatt (48.53) and Shawn Rowe, who crossed the line in 49.66 to conclude the men's podium.
