Cheroben clocks half marathon world lead of 58:40

Abraham Cheroben clocked a 2017 world half marathon world lead while Eunice Chumba won the women's race in 1:06.11 at the Copenhagen half marathon on Sunday, September 17.

Six men broke 1 hour  barrier while top three finishers managed to go sub 59 minutes in half marathon in Copenhagen.

The race winner Abraham Cheroben of Bahrain clocked 58.40 to become the third fastest man in the history. Jorum Lumbasi Okombo and Alex Oloitiptip of Kenya came in third and second in massive personal best times of 58.48 and 58:51 respectively.


The women's race also witnessed very fast finishing times as Burundi's Eunice Chumba clocked a new course record of 1:06:11. Second and third place finishers Joan Chelimo Melly and Brigid Jepchirchir Kosgei posted  1:06:25 and 1:06.35.
