The 2026 Copenhagen Marathon will take place on Sunday, May 10, in Copenhagen, with the race starting at 9:30 a.m. local time (CET). The event has already sold out, continuing its rapid growth as one of Europe’s most popular spring marathons.
The fast and flat course, which starts and finishes at Islands Brygge, is expected to produce quick times once again. Organizers recently announced a deep international elite field featuring 11 men with personal bests under 2:10. Kenya’s Vincent Mutai returns after finishing runner-up last year, while Belgium’s Lahsene Bouchikhi headlines the European contenders with a PB of 2:08:36.

Fans can follow the race through the official livestream on the event website and via the Copenhagen Marathon app. The livestream coverage is scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m. local time and the app also provides live tracking, results, course maps, and replay features.
Organizers believe both course records could come under threat. The official course records currently stand at 2:08:23 for men and 2:23:14 for women. Pacers are reportedly targeting ambitious splits around 2:07:30 for the men’s race and 2:22:30 for the women’s race.
The race-day schedule begins early in the morning, with the runners’ area opening at 7:00 a.m. and the start zone opening at 7:30 a.m. Elite athletes will be introduced at 9:15 a.m. before the gun goes off at 9:30 a.m. Organizers expect the winning men to finish between 11:35 and 11:45 a.m., while the women’s winner is projected between 11:55 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
