The 2026 TCS London Marathon is set to deliver another historic chapter as more than 59,000 runners take to the streets of the British capital on Sunday, April 26. The 46th edition of the race, part of the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors series, continues to stand as one of the most iconic and competitive marathons in the world.

The traditional 42.195-kilometer course will once again begin in Greenwich and wind through London’s most famous landmarks—including Tower Bridge and the London Eye—before finishing along The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace. With its fast, flat profile and unmatched crowd support, the race remains a favorite for both elite athletes and mass participants.

In the United Kingdom, live coverage starts at 8:30 a.m. on BBC One, before continuing on BBC Two and via the BBC iPlayer platform.

  • 8:50am Men’s and women’s elite wheelchair races

This year’s elite fields are among the strongest ever assembled. In the men’s race, defending champion Sabastian Sawe faces a formidable challenge from track and road stars including Jacob Kiplimo, Joshua Cheptegei, Tamirat Tola, and Yomif Kejelcha, setting the stage for a high-quality, fast-paced contest.

The women’s race is equally compelling, led by defending champion Tigst Assefa alongside Joyciline Jepkosgei, Hellen Obiri, and Degitu Azimeraw. With multiple athletes capable of running well under 2:20, the race could produce one of the fastest times in London Marathon history.
