The 23 year old Ethiopian middle-distance star, Genzebe Dibaba, set a new women's world indoor 1500m record of 3:55.17 on Saturday at the International Indoor Meeting Weltklasse Karlsruhe.
Dibaba's pace setter, Sonja Roman of Slovania paced Dibaba through the 800m (2:09.0) 0- more of a sub 4 min pace. Dibaba then took the lead and went through the1200m marking 3:10.5. It was then Dibaba against the clock;
Dibaba surged last 300m in 44.5 seconds shattering the previous world indoor record.
