Kenya's Dominic Ondoro was the winner of the Chevron Houston Marathon with 2:10:36, while Japanese runner Hitomi Niiya clocked an impressive 2:19:24 to win the women's race. Niiya became the 2nd-fastest Japanese marathoner of all time with her victory; however, she missed the 2:19:12 national record.
