Yohan Blake clocks 9.96 to win 100m in Leverkusen

Yohan Blake from Jamaica took the victory in the men's 100 meters, clocking 9.96 seconds into a -0.7 strong headwind at the True Athletes Classics Leverkusen, Germany, on Sunday.

The former World 100m champion, Blake, led the qualifying round with a time of 9.98 seconds. The 32-year-old returned to track less than an hour later to claim the little under an hour later to take the win in the final.

USA's Cravont Charleston took the 2nd place with a time of 10.12 seconds while Jeremiah Azu from Great Britain clocked 10.16 for the third. Defending champion and meeting record holder Arthur Cisse from Ivory Coast was fourth with a time of 10.19 seconds.

The women's 100m final won Celera Barnes from the United States with a time of 11.12 (-0.8 m/s). She defeated her countrywomen Kiara Parker getting second at 11.22, and Germany's Rebekka Haase who finished third with 11.41.

The  the True Athletes Classics is part of the 2022 World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze level series.
