Olympic 1500m champion Jacob Ingebrigsten will be racing his first outdoor race this year at the Sound Running Track Meet, a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze level meeting, on Friday (6).

The Sound Running track competitions, primarily held in California, United States, have recently been recognized for their excellent organization and ideal requirements for middle and long-distance runners to achieve fast times.

Ingebrigsten will run the 5000m at the Track Meet at San Juan Capistrano stadium. He will face a strong field that includes Olympic 1500m bronze medallist Josh Kerr, 2021 Olympian Joe Klecker and American talents like Conner Mantz and Nico Young, and Avinash Sable from India, who currently holds the 3000m steeple World lead at 8:16.

After the race in San Juan Capistrano Jacob Ingebrigsten will remain in the United States to continue his preparation and compete at the Prefontaine Classic, a Diamond League meeting, in Eugene, Oregon on 28 May.

The Sound Running Track Meet will be streamed live on the event organizers' website.
