Kenya's Dickson Chumba returns to Tokyo Marathon with an aim to win his third Tokyo title, while Bahrain's El Hassan El Abassi and Ethiopian duo Birhanu Legese and Seifu Tura join Chumba as the only men in the field with a sub 2:05 PB.
The women's field includes four women with personal best times inside 2 hours and 20 minutes. Ruti Aga - who has had three consecutive runner-up finishes will try to win her first Tokyo marathon crown.
