Japanese Teenager Blasts 10.01 in 100m

17 Year old Japanese Yoshihide Kiryu equalled the world junior 100m record in a time of 10.01, when running in the heats of the Mikio Oda Memorial in Hiroshima on Monday 29. The Japanese athlete has tied Darrel Brown’s world junior record from ten years ago and now tops the world 100m season list. Watch Video Here.

Jenny Simpson Returns at Drake Relays Better than Ever Before

After dissapointing Olympic year, USA´s 2011 world 1500m champion Jenny Simpson set a new Drake Relays meet record in 1500m (4:03.35).

In the men's mile, New Zealands Nick Willis took an easy win running 3:55.71 topping the 2013 wolrds list in the event.

Hurdle races saw three world leads as Queen Harrison (USA) won the 100m hurdle race in 12.71.  Zuzana Hejnová of Czech Republic won women's 400m hurdle race in 54.41 seconds while men's race winner Michael Tinsley (USA) improved his world leading time to 48.55 seconds.

Finally, the  35-year old Reese Hoffa (USA) took the victory in the men's shot put competition with a toss of 21.71 meters marking the fourth world leade at Drake Relay.

USA Relay Teams Dominte Penn Relays

The United States 4x100m squad (Mike Rodgers, Justin Gatlin, Darvis Patton, Ryan Bailey) took down Jamaican team (Nesta Carter, Dexter Lee, Rasheed Dwyer, Jason Young) with a time of 38.26 seconds. In the men's 4x400m relay race the team USA (Torrin Lawrence, Manteo Mitchell, Bershawn Jackson, Tony McQuay) once again beat Jamaicans clocking 3:00.91. The United States showed more fire power at Penn Relays as the women's 4x400m team narrowly won Great Brittain's with a  world leading 3:22.66.

Six World Leads at Payton Jordan Distance Carnival in Palo Alto California

Australias Ben St. Lawrence won the men's 10,000m race in time of 27:37.55 while Shalane Flanagan (USA) was the fastest in the women's race 31:04.85.

Women's 3000m steeple chase winner Emma Couburn (USA) clocked 9:28.26. Mat Hughes of Canada won the men's 3000m steeple chase race with in personal best time of 8:21.34.

The final two world leads at Palo Alto came in men's and women's 5000m races. The 31-year old Alisha Williams (USA) clocked a personal best of 15:09.73 to win the event.  Ben True the men's race winner also posted a  new personal best time of 13:14.44.


Montsho clocks in Season Opener 50.21

Defending world cahmpion in 400m Amantle Montsho of Botswana clocked a world leading time of 50.21 seconds in 400m racein Cote D'ivoire on April 27 moving to the top of the 2013 world season list.
