• Wilson Loyanai Takes Down Gyeongju International Marathon Record 2:06:46

 The Dong-A Ilbo Gyeongju International Marathon,  ,which is one of the IAAF Silver Label Road Races

 Kenyan Wilson Loyanai successfully defended the Dong-A IIbo Gyengju International Marathon title that he won last year. He not only won the race but also broke the course record that previously belonged to Ethiopian Yemane Tsegay’s 2:08:52 in 2009. Wilson Loyanai bettered the mark  by more than two minutes running 2:06:46. Four other runners in this race went under the old CR and a total of seven runners went under 2:10. 

Loyanai’s time of 2:06:46 is the second fastest in his career. He holds a personal best time of 2:05:37.  Kenya took  top nine places in the competition with Boniface Mbuvi (2:08:39 for 2nd) and Moses Kurgat (2:08:40 for 3rd) reaching personal bests in the tight sprint finish for the second place.
