Cole Hocker produced one of the finest indoor mile runs ever recorded on February 14, stopping the clock at 3:45.94 to claim a new American record at the inaugural ASICS Sound Running Invite.
Competing on the lightning-fast banked track at JDL Fast Track, Hocker powered past the previous U.S. indoor mile standard of 3:46.63, set in 2025 by Yared Nuguse.
The 3:45.94 performance now stands as the second-fastest indoor mile in history, confirming Hocker’s place among the event’s all-time greats and trailing only the 3:45.14 world record of Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
