Sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala won the 100m at the Kenyan Olympic trials with an impressive time of 9.79, setting the world's best mark of the year, just over a month before the Paris Games.
Until now, the best time of the year belonged to Jamaican Oblique Seville, who ran a 9.82 on June 2 in Kingston.
This is Omanyala’s second-best personal time, having set the African record of 9.77 in 2021.
