Divine Oduduru (NGR) of Texas Tech clocked a new personal best time of 9.86 seconds to win the NCAA title. Total of three men broke the 10 second-barrier in the 100m final as Cravon Gillespie of Oregon and Hakim Sani Brown of Florida took seond and third place with 9.93 and 9.97 respectively.
