Men's 110m Hurdles Final - IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.
American Grant Holloway in his first World Championships appearance won the gold in 13.11. About 30m before the finish Holloway was in a clear lead but a drama happened behind him in lane 4 and 5 between Jamaica's defending World Champion Omar McLeod and Spaniard Orlando Ortega who was also battling for the medals.
Mcleod who was gaining the gap on Holloway entered Ortega's lane just before the final hurdle. Jamaican pushed hard the Spaniard while both were going over the final barrier. McLeod went down on the track while Ortega who managed to stay on his feet lost a lot of speed while pushing back the Jamaican with his left arm. All this mess definitely cost Ortega a medal as he came in 5th place in 13.30 seconds. Meanwhile, Russia's former World Champion Sergey Shubenkov grabbed the silver in 13.15 as Frenchmen Pascal Martinot Lagarde finished in third in 13.18.
