Three-time Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon once again showcased her dominance, smashing her own world record with a sensational 3:48.68 in the women’s 1500m. Her previous mark of 3:49.04, set in Paris in 2024, lasted less than a year. This was the second world record set during an extraordinary evening of athletics.
Ethiopia’s Diribe Welteji pushed the pace to claim second place in a lifetime best of 3:51.44, while Australia’s Jessica Hull clocked a season’s best of 3:52.67 for third. Notable performances came from Georgia Bell Hunter (3:54.76), Nikki Hiltz (3:55.96), and Ireland’s Sarah Healy (3:57.20), all finishing under 3:58 in a historically fast race.
