Alternative Viewing Options (Official & Free Services)

If you can’t access the above broadcasters, there are a few official alternative ways to follow the match

View alternative viewing options by country and region on Watch Athletics here.

Arsenal’s Matchday Show: Arsenal FC will host a live matchday show “Live From N5” on Arsenal.com and the official Arsenal app, featuring real-time commentary, analysis and club-centric coverage during the game. This is not a live stream of the match itself, but a second-screen experience with Arsenal pundits – useful for fans without a video feed. Likewise, Real Madrid’s official media may provide live textual updates or radio commentary via their club channels.

UEFA’s Digital Platforms: While UEFA’s official website and app do not stream the match live in most regions (due to broadcast rights), they offer live text commentary, statistics, and highlights. The UEFA Champions League website has a Match Centre updating key events in real time, and may provide free audio commentary in select markets. Shortly after full-time, UEFA’s site and UEFA.tv (the free streaming platform) will have highlight clips and a recap of the match.

YouTube and Social Media: Official highlights will be uploaded to YouTube rapidly after the match. In the UK, Amazon Prime Video Sport’s YouTube channel will post free highlights soon after the final whistle. Additionally, the UEFA Champions League official YouTube channel will publish highlight videos for a global audience, usually within hours of the match’s end. These typically include key moments and goals in a 5–10 minute package. Clubs’ social media accounts (Arsenal and Real Madrid) will also share goal clips and updates during and after the game.

Live Text & Local Radio: Many sports news outlets (e.g. BBC Sport, ESPN FC, The Guardian, Marca/AS) will run live text commentaries on their websites, which is a free way to follow the action minute-by-minute. In addition, local radio stations in the teams’ home cities often provide live commentary (for example, BBC London or talkSPORT for UK listeners, and Cadena SER/COPE for Spanish listeners), which can sometimes be accessed online. These can serve as an alternative if you can’t watch video – for instance, TUDN Radio in the US is carrying live Spanish radio commentary, and BBC Radio 5 Live is accessible via internet radio in many regions for English commentary.

Team News and Injury Updates

Arsenal

Arsenal have been hit with a number of injury absences in recent weeks.

  • Center-back Gabriel Magalhães just underwent surgery for a hamstring injury suffered last week and will miss the rest of the season.
  • New left-back Riccardo Calafiori is also sidelined after injuring his knee on international duty.
  • In addition: Gabriel Jesus (forward) – Out, recovering from a knee issue.
  • Kai Havertz (forward) – Out with a hamstring injury.
  • Takehiro Tomiyasu (defender) – Out long-term (knee injury).
  • Raheem Sterling (winger) – Suspended for this match due to yellow-card accumulation (he was booked in the last round) . Sterling, a mid-season signing, will sit this first leg out.

On the positive side, Bukayo Saka is back from his extended injury layoff. Saka had been out for about three months with a hamstring injury but returned as a substitute in Arsenal’s recent league games and is “fit again” – he’s expected to start this match. Midfielder  Mikel Merino suffered a head wound in the last game, but he has been cleared to play after getting stitches. Defender  Ben White made a return from injury at the weekend (playing 60 minutes against Everton), giving Mikel Arteta another option in defense. There are no fresh injuries from the weekend draw at Everton, so Arsenal’s squad, while stretched, has no new knocks aside from the known long-term cases.

Arsenal must also be wary of discipline: key players Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Gabriel Martinelli are each one yellow card away from suspension (they would miss the second leg if booked).

Real Madrid

Real Madrid are also dealing with a defensive injury crisis, though they have some good news in goal.

  • Star keeper Thibaut Courtois has declared himself “fully fit” after a knee problem and will return to start, having missed the last three games. This is timely because backup keeper Andriy Lunin is out with a muscle injury (expected back mid-April). Other updates for Real Madrid:
  • Dani Carvajal (right-back) – Out for the season with an ACL knee injury.
  • Éder Militão (center-back) – Out for the season with an ACL injury suffered earlier in the campaign.
  • Ferland Mendy (left-back) – Out; he has been left out of the traveling squad due to an ongoing injury.
  • Dani Ceballos (midfielder) – Out with an injury; he did not travel for this leg.
  • Aurélien Tchouaméni (midfielder) – Suspended for the first leg after picking up his third yellow card of the tournament in the Round of 16. He will serve a one-match ban.

These absences mean Real are missing multiple first-choice defenders. On the bright side, Real’s attacking stars are fit: Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior (who have 50+ goals between them this season) are available and in good form, and Jude Bellingham is healthy as well. Veteran midfielders Luka Modrić and Toni Kroosare fit, though it’s unclear if both will start given the younger options. Overall, Carlo Ancelotti has a “stripped-back” squad in defense, but still a wealth of attacking talent to choose from.

Probable Starting Lineups

Arsenal (4-3-3): David Raya (GK); Jurriën Timber, William Saliba, Jakub Kiwior, Myles Lewis-Skelly (defense); Martin Ødegaard, Thomas Partey, Declan Rice (midfield); Bukayo Saka, Mikel Merino, Gabriel Martinelli (attack).

Real Madrid (4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1): Thibaut Courtois (GK); Lucas Vázquez (RB), R. Asencio,* Antonio Rüdiger (CBs), David Alaba (LB); Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham (midfield three); Rodrygo Goes, Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior (forward line).
