Defending women's champion Waganesh Mekasha returns after a strong 2:20:44 victory in Toronto last fall. She’ll face tough competition from a deep Ethiopian contingent, including Sisay Meseret Gola, Yeshi Kalayu Chekole, Afera Godfay, and Amid Fozya Jamal, all within a minute of her best.
Women's Elite:
On the men’s side, the seven fastest entrants have all run under the 2:06:01 course record in the past three years, making a new record highly likely. Ronald Korir, Bethwel Kibet, and Boniface Kimutai headline the field, while Japanese national record holder Kengo Suzuki sits at #4, looking for a strong performance.
