  • Zouhair Talbi – United States
  • Clayton Young – United States

The men’s course record is 58:56, set by Kenya’s Martin Mathathi in 2011.

Elite women

Defending champion Sheila Chepkirui of Kenya heads a high-quality women’s field. She will face two-time Great North Run champion and former marathon world-record holder Brigid Kosgei, alongside British star Eilish McColgan, who returns after recovering from a toe injury.

Other notable entrants include:

McColgan is still seeking her first Great North Run victory, which would add her name to the event’s roll of honour alongside her mother, former champion Liz McColgan.
