The 2026 Indiana University Health 500 Festival Mini-Marathon will celebrate a historic milestone on Saturday, May 2, as the race marks its 50th anniversary in downtown Indianapolis. One of the most iconic half marathons in the United States, the event is expected to welcome more than 20,000 runners for the 13.1-mile race, alongside a vibrant weekend that also includes the accompanying 5K and championship competitions.
Fans can also tune in to watch the Mini-Marathon live on WTHR+ and Channel 13 WTHR from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. US Eastern.

Renowned for its flat and fast course, the Mini-Marathon offers a unique experience highlighted by a 2.5-mile stretch inside the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where participants run across the famous “Yard of Bricks.” With multiple start waves beginning from 7:35 a.m. ET, runners will take to the streets amid a festive atmosphere featuring live entertainment, enthusiastic crowds, and a large post-race celebration at Military Park.
