The 2026 Mattoni Half Marathon Karlovy Vary will bring thousands of runners to one of Europe’s most picturesque spa destinations on Saturday, May 16, as the popular RunCzech series continues with another sold-out edition. Set against the elegant backdrop of Karlovy Vary’s UNESCO-listed architecture and famous colonnades, the evening race once again promises a unique combination of elite road running and festival atmosphere.

The entire event will be broadcast live on YouTube for free Worldwide. The live coverage is scheduled to start at 17:45 Central European Time (GMT +2).
The half marathon, scheduled to start at 18:00 local time, is part of the wider Mattoni Running Festival weekend and will feature approximately 3,800 participants. Alongside the main race, the program also includes the Varyáda 10K Run, Family Mile, Bambini Run, and the half marathon relay, creating a full day of running events in the Czech spa city.
Organized by RunCzech, the race follows a certified course through the historic center of Karlovy Vary, passing landmarks such as the Thermal Hotel and Grandhotel Pupp. The route is known for its fast sections mixed with cobblestone stretches and spectacular scenery along the Teplá River.
The event has produced strong performances over the years, with Wilfred Kimitei’s men’s course record of 1:00:54 and Yvonne Jelagat’s women’s mark of 1:08:19 still standing as the benchmarks to beat this weekend.
