The 2026 Madrid Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 26, as part of the vibrant Zurich Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Madrid, one of Europe’s largest and most energetic road running events. With tens of thousands of participants across the marathon, half marathon, and 10K distances, the Spanish capital once again transforms into a city-wide celebration of running. The Half Marathon race will start at 8:00 AM Central European Time.
The event will be broadcast live on Tele Madrid, with the live coverage starting at 7:45 AM local time (GMT +2).
The half marathon is set to start in the morning from Paseo de la Castellana, with runners moving through Madrid’s iconic streets before finishing in the heart of the city on Paseo de Recoletos. The course showcases many of Madrid’s most famous landmarks, including Gran Vía, Puerta del Sol, the Royal Palace, and the Prado Museum, offering a scenic but demanding route.
Known for its rolling profile, the Madrid Half Marathon presents a moderate challenge, with early undulations requiring controlled pacing before more runnable sections later in the race. The combination of elevation changes and city-center turns makes it a tactical event, rewarding athletes who manage effort carefully over the 21.1-kilometer distance.
