Now in its 31st edition, the event continues to blend elite competition with mass participation in a setting unlike any other on the global marathon calendar.
The event will be streamed live for free worldwide on YouTube. The live coverage is scheduled to start at 9:00 am Central European Time (GMT +1).
The race will start along Via dei Fori Imperiali, with the Colosseum providing a dramatic backdrop, before guiding athletes through a scenic 42.195 km course that passes many of the Eternal City’s most famous landmarks. Among the highlights are St. Peter’s Basilica, Castel Sant’Angelo, Piazza Navona, and the Spanish Steps, before the finish at the historic Circo Massimo.
More than 20,000 runners from around the world are expected to take part across the marathon and associated events, including the Run4Rome relay and the popular 5 km Fun Run held the day before. The race is also closely tied to World Water Day, promoting sustainability and global awareness through its #RunForWater initiative.
