The Zurich Marató Barcelona returns on Sunday, March 15, 2026, bringing thousands of runners to the streets of Barcelona for one of Europe’s most popular spring marathons. The race will start at 8:30 AM local time (CET) in the city center near Plaça de Catalunya and finish beneath the historic Arc de Triomf, offering a dramatic finale in front of large crowds.

Organizers expect up to 32,000 participants from around the world to take part in the 42.195-kilometer race. The event also doubles as the Spanish Marathon Championships and Catalan Marathon Championships, adding a competitive national dimension to the international field.
The course is known for being flat and fast, making it attractive for runners targeting personal bests. Athletes will pass many of Barcelona’s iconic landmarks, including the Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, the Barceloneta Beach waterfront, and Parc de la Ciutadella, while the route winds through 25 neighborhoods of the Catalan capital.
