The streets of Murcia will come alive on Sunday, February 1, 2026, as the TotalEnergies Maratón Murcia Costa Cálida returns with its biggest and most international edition yet. Now officially part of the World Athletics Global Calendar with a World Athletics Label, the race continues its rapid rise as one of Spain’s premier early-season marathons .

Organizers are expecting nearly 12,000 runners from more than 80 countries across the full program, which includes the marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.0975 km), and a 10 km race. The growing participation underscores Murcia’s emergence as a winter running hotspot, combining fast courses with mild Mediterranean conditions .

Race morning begins with the 10 km at approximately 8:45 a.m., followed by the marathon and half marathon around 9:30 a.m. local time. All routes are officially certified, and one of the signature highlights awaits at the finish, set near the city’s historic cathedral, offering a dramatic and scenic backdrop for runners and spectators alike .
