The Seoul Marathon, officially known as the Dong-A Marathon, returns on Sunday, March 15, 2026, bringing thousands of runners to the streets of South Korea’s capital for one of Asia’s most historic road races. The event, recognized as a World Athletics Platinum Label Road Race, is widely regarded as the country’s premier marathon and one of the oldest continuously held marathons in the world.
The race will start at 7:30 a.m. local time from Gwanghwamun Square, with runners traveling across central Seoul before finishing at the iconic Jamsil Olympic Stadium within the Jamsil Sports Complex, the venue used during the 1988 Summer Olympics.

The event will be broadcast live and free worldwide on YouTube. The live coverage is scheduled to start at 6:10 AM local time (GMT +9).
Alongside the elite marathon, the event also features a 10-kilometer race, allowing tens of thousands of recreational runners to participate in the festival of running. Participation typically ranges between 25,000 and 40,000 athletes, combining elite competitors with amateur runners from around the world.
The course is known for being flat and fast, passing several of Seoul’s historic and modern landmarks, including areas near Gyeongbokgung Palace, before heading southeast toward the Olympic complex finish.
First held in 1931, the Seoul Marathon has grown into one of the most prestigious road races in Asia and continues to attract international attention as elite athletes pursue fast times on its favorable course. With its long tradition and energetic crowds, the 2026 edition is expected to once again deliver a high-quality day of marathon racing in the heart of Seoul.
