Barcelona will once again close the year at full speed when the Cursa dels Nassos returns on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, blending world-class elite racing with one of Europe’s most festive mass-participation 10Ks.
The New Year’s Eve classic, staged in the Sant Martí district, features its now-traditional double bill: an international elite 5km in the late afternoon, followed by the hugely popular 10km road race, which will send thousands of runners into the streets of the Catalan capital just before sunset. Organisers have confirmed a sold-out field of around 13,500 runners, underlining the race’s status as one of the most sought-after year-end events on the European road-running calendar.

The entire event will be streamed live for free on YouTube. The live coverage is scheduled to start around 4:00 pm Central European Time (GMT +1).
Elite 5km: records in sight
The elite-only 5km, starting at 16:20, will once again take place on a notoriously fast, flat circuit with only a handful of turns, marked every 500 metres. The course has become synonymous with record-breaking performances in recent seasons, and 2025 is shaping up to be no exception.
All eyes will be on Thierry Ndikumwenayo, who headlines a deep international field and is targeting a European 5km record on Barcelona’s lightning-quick roads. Around 70 elite athletes from more than a dozen countries are expected to line up, ensuring honest pacing and ideal conditions for fast times.
