Toronto will host the 2025 TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon (Oct. 18–19), a World Athletics Elite Label event and the venue for the National Marathon Championships of Athletics Canada. The marquee Sunday programme includes both the full marathon and half-marathon, starting at 8:00 a.m. EDT at Yonge & Gerrard.

With elite and amateur runners alike chasing the finish across Toronto’s waterfront and landmarks, the event promises excitement from the start.
Elite athletes set for showdown
On the men’s side, defending champion Mulugeta Uma (ETH) returns after a 2:05:33 personal best, joined by former 2:05 finishers such as Workineh Tadese (ETH), Dominic Ngeno (KEN) and Yihunilign Adane (ETH). Canadian national favourite Ben Flanagan makes his marathon debut with plenty of fanfare. Meanwhile the women’s field features two-time winner Shure Demise (ETH) plus strong challengers like Almaz Kebede (ETH), Cynthia Chemweno (KEN) and Canada’s own stars Dayna Pidhoresky and Rachel Hannah.
