The 2025 Buenos Aires Marathon takes place on Sunday, 21 September, with the start set for 7:00 a.m. local time (UTC−3) from Avenida Figueroa Alcorta and Dorrego in Palermo. One of South America’s most prestigious distance-running events, the race is a World Athletics Label marathon and will see a record-breaking field of over 15,000 runners.

LIVE STREAMING

The event will be streamed live for free worldwide on YouTube, with the live coverage starting at 6:30 am local time (GMT -3).

For many Latin American countries, the channel ESPN3 will provide a live broadcast of the event. Of course, ESPN Run will also carry a live broadcast of the event, with its characteristic quality, through its paid channels.

Elite Men’s Field

The men’s lineup is headlined by a strong Ethiopian and Kenyan contingent aiming for fast times on Buenos Aires’ famously flat course.

  • Fikre Bekele Tefera (ETH) – 2:06:16 PB
  • Abay Alemu Lesa (ETH) – 2:06:50 PB
  • Amos Kiprotich Kiplagat (KEN) – 2:07:58 PB

They will be joined by other international marathon specialists, all looking to take advantage of the speedy South American route that has produced times under 2:06 in past editions.

Elite Women’s Field

The women’s race also promises fireworks, with Ethiopian depth at the forefront:

  • Bone Cheluke Wedesa (ETH) – 2:24:37 PB
  • Emebet Niguse Mamo (ETH) – 2:25:25 PB
  • Maritu Ketema Gutema (ETH) – winner of Madrid Marathon 2025 (2:25:55)

These contenders will chase both victory and course records in ideal racing conditions expected in late September.
