The German town of Thum will once again host some of the world’s best throwers when the 2025 Thumer Werfertag takes place this Friday, 15 August, at the Stadion an der Wiesenstraße. The World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting, organized by LV 90 Erzgebirge, features a compact but elite programme with men’s and women’s shot put, discus, and women’s javelin, alongside junior competitions and local youth events.

The meeting will be streamed live on ARD Mediathek for free worldwide, with the live coverage starting at 15:30 Central European Time (GMT +2).
The senior events begin with the women’s javelin at 16:15 CEST, followed by the women’s discus (18:05), women’s shot put (19:00), men’s discus (19:45), and men’s shot put (20:35). The meet will also serve as a send-off for Germany’s top throwers ahead of the World Championships, with athletes from more than 15 countries expected to compete.
