The 2025 Sir Walter Miler, one of the most anticipated mile races on the American track calendar, returns this Friday, August 8 to Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, with a thrilling mix of speed, tradition, and fanfare.
The event, known for its electric atmosphere and sub-4:00 mile chases under the lights, will once again welcome fans trackside for free. The festivities kick off at 6:00 p.m. with a carnival and vendor village, while elite racing begins at 9:15 p.m. with the Women’s Mile, followed by the Men’s Mile at 9:30 p.m.

Women’s Field Highlights:
The women’s elite mile features a world-class lineup including Colleen Quigley (lululemon), Krissy Gear (HOKA), Sadie Engelhardt (New Balance), and Allie Wilson (Nike). Rising NCAA stars like Olivia Markezich and Gracie Morris will toe the line alongside seasoned pros such as Christina Aragon and Laurie Barton.
Men’s Field Showdown:
On the men’s side, Sam Prakel (adidas) headlines the field as he looks to defend his reputation against Olympic finalist Olli Hoare, European medalist Mario Garcia Romo, and rising star Ky Robinson, all representing On Athletics Club. Also joining the chase are Sean McGorty, Ajay Kumar Saroj, and crowd-favorite Eric Holt.
