The 2025 EVA Air Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival is set to light up Alexandra Headland on Sunday, August 3, with thousands of runners taking part in one of Australia's most beloved community running events. This year introduces a brand-new single-lap coastal marathon course, designed to enhance both the runner experience and the region’s visual appeal. The marathon race will start at 6:00 AM local time (GMT +1).

The event will be streamed live for free worldwide on the MyAtlasEvents YouTube channel. The live coverage is scheduled to begin at 5:45 AM local time (GMT +1).
The revamped route winds through Twin Waters, Mudjimba, and across the Sunshine Motorway Bridge, offering sweeping ocean views and a smoother race flow. The course remains AIMS-certified, making it ideal for both personal bests and qualifying times for major international marathons.
Over 15,000 participants are expected across various events including the 42.195km marathon, 21.1km half marathon, 10km, 5km, and a 2km family fun run. The event also doubles as the Queensland Half Marathon Championships, attracting elite and amateur runners alike.
