Bangsaen21 Half Marathon – Course Description

The Bangsaen21 Half Marathon course is widely regarded as one of the most scenic and runnable half marathons in Asia, combining coastal beauty, rolling rhythm, and fast road sections.

The race starts in Bangsaen, with the opening kilometers unfolding along the iconic Bangsaen Beach Road, where runners are greeted by ocean views and cheering spectators in the early morning hours. This opening section is generally flat and fast, ideal for settling into race rhythm under cool pre-dawn conditions.

After the beachfront stretch, the course moves inland toward Khao Sam Muk, introducing a short series of gentle rolling hills. While this is the most demanding part of the race profile, the climbs are moderate and well-spaced, rewarding runners with flowing descents that allow pace to be regained quickly.

The second half of the course transitions back onto wide, smooth coastal roads heading toward Ang Sila, a traditional fishing area that adds local character and atmosphere. These later kilometers are largely flat and exposed, favoring strong, sustained running and making the course especially suitable for fast finishing times.

The final kilometers guide athletes back toward Bangsaen, finishing on broad roads near the beachfront in a spectator-friendly finish zone. With full road closures, consistent pavement quality, and a net profile that favors speed, Bangsaen21 is known for producing personal bests and elite-level performances, while still offering a visually striking race experience along Thailand’s eastern coast.
