EDP Lisbon Half Marathon 2026 Course Map and Route Details

The EDP Lisbon Half Marathon features one of the most scenic and fastest courses in global road running, combining a dramatic bridge start with a flat route along the Tagus River.

The race begins on the Ponte 25 de Abril, one of Lisbon’s most iconic landmarks. For the event, the massive suspension bridge is closed to traffic, allowing runners to cross the Tagus River while enjoying sweeping views of the Portuguese capital and the Cristo Rei statue.

After descending from the bridge into the Alcântara district, the course continues along the wide riverfront avenues that follow the Tagus shoreline. The route is mostly flat and fast, passing through central Lisbon areas such as Cais do Sodré before heading west toward the historic Belém district.

The final kilometers run along the waterfront toward the finish line near the Jerónimos Monastery in Belém, one of Portugal’s most famous historical sites.

Because of its flat profile, smooth roads, and favorable coastal conditions, the Lisbon course has produced some of the fastest half marathon performances ever recorded and remains a favorite destination for elite runners chasing quick times and records.
